Well, the New Year has come and gone, and a lot of homeowners start contemplating selling their homes. Usually, they decide to wait until spring to sell, believing no one wants to buy a home in winter.

That’s the furthest thing from the truth, and I’ll tell you why. Winter is the perfect time to sell because inventory is down (did I mention most homeowners wait until spring?), so buyers are less likely to try and negotiate a lower price. Waiting until spring means more competition, so listing your house now makes it the center of attention, and if priced correctly you’ll most likely sell quickly and get multiple strong offers.

With more homes on the market comes lower prices. Remember the old supply vs. demand rule? That applies to houses as well.  We’re expecting inventory to rebound from the record lows we’ve been having. If your house is one of the first on the market, well, you know what that means.

Mortgage rates are still historically low. A year ago, mortgage rates were at the lowest ever recorded and now they’re starting to rise. This means buyers are eager to buy now before they go up. And if you’re looking to move into your dream home, that’s important to you as well.

So, what does all that mean to you? We believe if you list your home now, you’ll be more competitive because of lower inventory, and gain a greater return on your investment. So, what are you waiting for?
