A Desert Gem

The small towns of northern Nevada have endured many changes over the years, what was once Pony Express stops are now busy and thriving. Silver Springs is one of these small towns, full of history but continuing to change. People are becoming more interested in Silver Springs as the housing market remains high. Silver Springs is bordered on the East by Lahontan Reservoir, the Carson River runs into Lahontan from the south, the Virginia Ramsey Range is to the north and highway 95 takes you to Carson City in the East.

Silver Springs has out door attractions that entice outdoor enthusiast, mainly in the summer. Lahontan Reservoir marvels in its history, it is a 22,000 year old prehistoric glacial lake! Yes, most of the water has evaporated but Lahontan still offers fishing, boating, water skiing and desert camping. To the south of Silver Springs is the Carson River. The Carson River is not only beautiful but attracts kayakers, canoers, river floaters and also campers. Boarding the north side of Silver Springs is the Virginia Ramsey Range. The mountain Range is home to multiple herds of wild horses. The horses are not scared to travel through town now and again, making a mustang sighting highly possible.

Silver Springs gives the feeling of being miles away from any larger city but it is only 14.4 miles from Fernley. Fernley offers all major shopping, medical and fine dining with-in an approximate 20-minute drive. Not as close, is Sparks, USA Parkway to I-80 West and you will arrive in approximately 35 minutes.  Silver Springs has properties for sale that don’t only include residential; there is multi use and vacant commercial land available as well. If you or someone you know is looking to move to a more rural location, I would be happy to show you the available properties!
